Bob Ellis - Head JV Coach: The 2010 baseball season will be Coach Ellis' 4th year with Highland Springs.
Coach Ellis has been coaching baseball since 1994 with Sandston Youth and Sandston Babe Ruth. Over
the past six seasons he has coached the 16 - 18 year old team in Sandston. He is currently the Assistant
District III Commissioner for Babe Ruth Baseball. He has served as the President of Sandston Babe Ruth
for the past eight years and is a certified Umpire for Babe Ruth. Coach Ellis recently retired from the
Virginia Air National Guard after thirty one years of service. Coach Ellis and his wife Cathy have been
married for over thirty years. They have one daughter recently graduated from VCU and one son who is
a junior at VCU. Coach Ellis' son played baseball and volleyball for HSHS from 2002 - 2005.
Gerald Glasco - Varsity Assistant Coach - Infielders: The 2010 baseball season will be the 5th year for
Coach Glasco at Highland Springs. Last year, Coach Glasco focused heavily on the outfielders and will
now be working primarily with the infielders. In 2004, Coach Glasco coached football (outside
linebackers) at Virginia State University. While attending VSU, Coach Glasco was a four year starter and
two year captain on the football team. Coach Glasco earned numerous academic and athletic awards
throughout college finishing it off with a cum laude degree from VSU, graduating with a 3.64 overall GPA.
A native of Newark, NJ, Coach Glasco attended high school in Chesepeake, VA at Oscar Smith H.S., where
he was a standout outfielder in baseball. Coach Glasco teaches Physical Education at HSHS.
John Lindsey - Varsity Assistant Coach: The 2010 baseball season will be Coach Lindsey's 4th year with
Highland Springs. Coach Lindsey will primarily work with the JV Outfielders. Coach Lindsey has been
involved with Youth Baseball for several years. Coach Lindsey is also the President of Sandston Youth
Football League, with this being his 6th season.
Anthony Mistler - Junior Varsity Assistant Coach:
Robbie Robinson - Varsity Assistant Coach: The 2010 baseball season will be Coach Robinson's 2nd
year with HS. Coach Robinson will work with the infielders, including the pitchers & catchers. Coach
Robinson has been involved with youth baseball for several years coaching at Varina Youth Sports for
the 13-15 team and 16-18 Babe Ruth team who won the District in 2008. He coached Sandston 16-18 Babe
Ruth in 2009 and is currently the Vice President of Sandston Babe Ruth Baseball. Coach Robinson played
high school baseball at J.R. Tucker HS and they won the state championship in 1980. He was selected to
the All-Metro team in 1980 as a catcher and played on the Post 361 team in 1980. Coach Robinson and his
wife, Carrie, have been married for 23 years and have one son, Matthew, who is a senior at HS and is in
his 4th year in the program.
