HEAD VARSITY BASEBALL COACH

B.J. Crowder is the Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Director of Football Operations, and
Head Varsity Golf Coach at Highland Springs High School.   Coach Crowder enters his
6th year on the Springer Baseball Staff, with this year being his 5th as the Head Varsity
Coach.  Prior to that, he was a JV Assistant Coach.  Coach Crowder will be the primary
coach for the pitchers and catchers.  Coach Crowder is a former Springer and spent all 4
years on the Springer Baseball Team as well as the Springer Golf Team.  Coach
Crowder was the 2nd individual qualifier in the district his junior year as a golf team
member and went on to compete in region play.  He then was named captain of the
Springer Golf Team his senior year.  Coach Crowder was the recipient of numerous
baseball awards and was the winner of the Bob Bralley Sportsmanship Award his senior
year for all of Highland Springs High School Athletics.

After finishing at Highland Springs, Coach Crowder went on to VCU for 4 years and
earned his Bachelors of Science in Information Systems with a concentration in Network
Management.  Coach Crowder earned his Masters Degree and
recently finished his Post
Masters Certificate Program through George Washington University.  He will finish his
Ed.S. degree in Fall, 2010 and plans to continue into his doctorates at that time.
 Coach
Crowder is an Administrative Intern and Computer Systems Technology Instructor at
Highland Springs Technical Center.  He was the recipient of the First Year Teacher of the
Year Award for his school in 2005
and is the Teacher of the Year for his school in 2010.  
Coach Crowder lives in Hanover County.
